      Scope proposes to incorporate Bank Capital Instruments Rating Methodology into FI Rating Methodology

      No impact expected on existing ratings.

      Scope Ratings announced today its proposal to update its Financial Institutions Rating Methodology.

      One proposed change to the Financial Institutions Rating Methodology is to expand the approach to rating bank capital instruments to incorporate key methodological elements from the Bank Capital Instruments Rating Methodology, which will be withdrawn.

      Scope has invited issuers, investors and other interested parties to comment on the Financial Institutions Rating Methodology, including this proposed change, by 20 January 2023, as part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to transparency and open dialogue with market participants.
