Scope Ratings’ structured finance ratings now available on Bloomberg Professional Service
Scope currently rates and monitors over EUR 26bn of European structured finance debt securities and over EUR 400bn of covered bonds. Current rating coverage includes covered bonds, SME CLOs, CMBS, RMBS and securitisations of leases, trade receivables and alternative investment funds. Scope also analyses a number of European infrastructure and project finance transactions.
Scope’s key analytical difference lies in its customised approach, regional perspective and opinion-driven analysis. Scope’s structured finance rating approach results in high rating differentiation because Scope applies a bottom-up analytical approach which considers transactions in their individual context, avoiding mechanistic rating caps or one-size-fits-all assumptions. In addition Scope's methodologies offer rating stability by adjusting the assumptions for long-term local references, and strong forward-looking fundamental views. Scope also uses a post-crisis counterparty risk approach, which reflects the more robust credit quality of European banks after the implementation of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD).
"Scope Ratings is the European rating agency with headquarters in Berlin and offices in London, Frankfurt, Paris and Madrid. It is committed not only to Europe, but to innovative, forward-looking methodologies rooted in its analytical competence to add greater transparency to the capital markets,” says Torsten Hinrichs, CEO of Scope Ratings. The company specialises in rating and analysing the credit quality of corporates, financial institutions, structured and project finance transactions, and sub-sovereigns across Europe. Scope Ratings is certified by ESMA as a European Credit Assessment Institution (ECAI) in the European Union.
