Italian NPL collections: July proceeds maintain trend of previous two years

July collections fell 24% month on month, broadly similar to the declines observed in the two previous years (30% in 2022, 32% in 2023). Volumes were also 24% below the average for the same month of the previous two years.

The decline in July 2024 was primarily driven by DPOs and note sales, which were 36% and 27% below average collections for July 2022 and 2023, respectively. Judicial proceeds were relatively stable and were just 5% below the average. This aligns with observations from previous reports.
