Scope Ratings announced today the publication of its updated Financial Institutions Rating Methodology.

No impact expected on existing ratings.

One change to the Financial Institutions Rating Methodology is to expand the approach to rating bank capital instruments to incorporate key methodological elements from the Bank Capital Instruments Rating Methodology. Subsequently, the Bank Capital Instruments Rating methodology is now withdrawn.

Scope did not receive comments from market participants during the request-for-comments period, which expired on 20 January 2023.
