      The Wide Angle: European banks are under-investing in digital transformation

      The future of European banks will be decided by their success in digitally transforming their business models and profitability drivers yet banks continue to under-invest in this area.

      The challenge is most threatening for second and third-tier banks with fewer technological, financial, and intellectual resources. Sam Theodore believes the future of technology laggards will become increasingly clouded and that the competitive threat to banks in the digital age will come not from neobanks, non-banks and big tech but from other banks.
